Before you switch off
Back SoonAn out-of-office reply that says when you are back, and who to ask.
Pick your dates and say who covers what. The page works out your first working day back, checks what you typed for things a stranger should not read, and gives you a free draft and the exact values for Gmail. One run writes the subject, the reply and a short status in your tone.

One run writes the subject, the reply and a short status line in your tone, copies every contact exactly, keeps private details out and asks for a contact if urgent matters have none. The page re-checks the reply.

How it works
An out-of-office reply goes to everyone who writes - including strangers, and including people who should not know your house is empty this week. So the page reads everything you type and flags personal phone numbers and email addresses, where you are going, health or family reasons and anything saying nobody is home. The free draft leaves them out, and so does the written reply; anything kept out is listed so you can see it.
Your first day back is the next working day after the last day away - weekends are skipped unless you work them. Public holidays are not known to the page, so set "Back on" yourself if one falls in the way. The calendar hatches the days away and rings the day back.
Gmail's vacation responder takes a first day, an end date, a subject and a message. "Only send a response to people in my Contacts" is a good idea when the reply is meant for colleagues. The page cannot switch the responder on for you - copy the values across. Back Soon is an independent tool, not affiliated with Google.
